Clarify the building type first — a Credit Village condo needs an elevator booking; a house on a Lakeshore Road side street needs a driveway plan and a truck that fits the frontage. The lake view does not define the loading rules.
Streetsville
Mississauga's historic village core has older homes on narrower lots, mature trees, and tighter street frontages than the newer suburbs. Some streets will not comfortably take a 26 ft truck, which changes the equipment plan before move day. House moves here benefit from photos of the driveway approach, front entrance, and any basement staircase early in the quote process.
Erin Mills & Mississauga Valleys
Established family-home territory west of Highway 403 with two-storey detached homes that often include full basements, double garages, and high furniture volume. These loads regularly need three movers and a 26 ft truck. Photos of the basement exit, any stair turns on the main staircase, and the driveway approach all affect the time estimate.
Meadowvale & Lisgar
Northwest Mississauga near Highway 401 and Britannia Road — newer subdivisions with large detached homes and townhouses. Rear-lane townhouses are common; confirm whether the truck enters the lane or parks on the front street. Confirm the loading arrangement — building loading bay, driveway, or a separately arranged street access — before booking the date.
- City Centre and Cooksville condos: service elevator bookings and loading bay directions need to be obtained from building management before the truck is assigned. Some buildings require separate bookings for the elevator and the bay; others restrict the vehicle length that can enter.
- Port Credit and Lakeview: confirm the building type (tower, low-rise, or house) and the loading access before the quote is finalized. Lakefront buildings often have loading arrangements that differ from their mailing address side.
- Streetsville older homes: photograph the driveway approach and street frontage. Some lots cannot accommodate a 26 ft truck close to the door; two trips with a smaller vehicle are sometimes the faster option.
- Route from Markham: Mississauga is the farthest regular destination from our base. We travel via Highway 407 west and 427 south, or via Highway 401 west, depending on the specific address. The 407 is a toll road — the planned route and any toll charges are confirmed with the quote.
