We work from Markham, northeast of Toronto, and reach most North York destinations via the Don Valley Parkway or Highway 404 south. Travel time to Willowdale and Don Mills is shorter than to Downsview or Bathurst-area addresses, which sit farther west. Willowdale & Yonge–Sheppard
The densest condo corridor in North York, centred on Yonge, Sheppard, and Finch. Service elevator bookings fill up on weekends; confirm the window early and send it to us before we schedule the crew. Loading bays in these towers often set both a vehicle-length limit and a time-limited access window that the truck must work within.
Bayview Village & Bayview–Sheppard
Mid-rise condos along Bayview Avenue sit alongside detached houses on quieter internal streets. Condo moves here need the standard elevator booking and separate loading-bay directions; house moves should include photos of the driveway approach and any entrance steps.
Don Mills
A planned community with rental towers along Don Mills Road and smaller detached homes on the inner residential streets. Tower moves need loading-bay instructions from the superintendent; the house side can have longer carry distances if truck access to the driveway is restricted by mature trees or a narrow lane.
Downsview & Chalkfarm
Older apartment complexes in the northwest, some without dedicated freight elevators. Confirm whether a freight elevator exists or whether the passenger elevator is used with building permission — this changes the crew plan and whether weekend or evening windows are available.
Lansing & Newtonbrook
Established bungalows, semis, and older detached homes north of Sheppard along Yonge. Street parking can be tight on narrow residential lots; the carry distance from truck to door and whether a basement staircase is involved are the two key access questions before we quote.
Lawrence Manor, Englemount & Bathurst–Lawrence
Bungalows and semis on mature residential streets between Allen Road and Bathurst Street. These are the farthest west in North York from our Markham yard, so travel time is longer than for Willowdale or Don Mills. Driveway access and basement entrance conditions are the main things to photograph before the move.

- Yonge–Sheppard and Yonge–Finch towers: confirm the service elevator window and loading bay vehicle-length limit before scheduling the truck. Many buildings in this corridor will not permit a 26 ft truck in the underground bay — street-level loading from a side street is the common alternative.
- Don Mills towers: ask the building superintendent for loading-bay directions and any time restriction on the freight elevator. The correct entrance is often different from the resident lobby, and using the wrong one can add significant carry distance.
- Downsview and older apartment buildings: if no freight elevator exists, confirm whether the passenger elevator can be used exclusively during the move window and whether the building requires elevator pads and blankets.
- Willowdale, Lansing, and Newtonbrook residential streets: parking a large commercial vehicle may require a City of Toronto permit on some residential streets. Confirm the stopping point before move day — do not assume a 26 ft truck can idle at the curb without restriction.
- Route from Markham: Don Mills and Willowdale are the fastest to reach via Highway 404 south to the DVP. Bathurst-area and Downsview addresses add 15–20 minutes via Highway 401 west. Both travel costs are included in the quote.

Why does a Yonge corridor condo move need more planning than a house move?
A Yonge Street condo has an elevator booking window, a loading bay with vehicle-size limits, underground clearance that may rule out a 26 ft truck, and often a separate mover entrance from the resident lobby. A house move has its own challenges — staircase turns, driveway conditions, basement access — but the scheduling is more flexible. When both ends of a move involve different building types, you need to plan both sets of constraints at the same time.
Do you move pianos and heavy items in North York?
Yes. Upright pianos, safes, stone tabletops, large appliances, and items over roughly 200 lb are handled with liftgate trucks, piano boards, and specialty dollies. Declare them when requesting the quote. A Willowdale condo elevator with height limits, or a Downsview basement staircase, both affect how a piano is moved — photos of both access points help confirm the plan. Is there extra cost for moving to or from a North York high-rise?
